We can assist people who are separating or who have family law issues regarding their children or property. In addition, we provide the following targeted family law services.

Family Relationship Centre Partnership:
The Mallee Family Care Community Legal Centre has developed a partnership with the Mildura Family Relationship Centre (FRC). We assist clients to navigate the Family Law dispute resolution process through this work. We provide advice sessions and community legal education at the FRC. In conjunction with the Hume Riverina Community Legal Service, we provide legal representation for parties during mediation. We assist clients to draft and prepare Court documents and parenting plans where appropriate.

Federal Circuit Court Duty Lawyer Service:
We are currently piloting a duty lawyer program at sittings of the Federal Circuit Court in Mildura. A lawyer from the Mallee Family Care Community Legal Centre is available at the court when it sits in Mildura to offer advice and assistance to unrepresented parties with family law children’s matters in the list. Access to assistance from a lawyer is based on means, merit and immediate need.
